How to fix a vapor lock
PPE is required. Keep the LP line away from your skin, face, and body.
- 1
Shut off the LP valve on the LP tank that is connected to the forklift (there are two on board).
- 2
Wearing PPE, disconnect the LP line from the tank.
- 3
Keep that line away from your skin, face, and body, and push the nipple against the LP tank bracket until all pressure is released.
- 4
Turn the ignition one click so the safety screen reads the system.
- 5
Try to start the machine with the LP line not connected until it wants to start.
- 6
Leave the key on the first click and connect the LP line to the tank. Do not open the LP tank gas yet.
- 7
While turning the key to start, slowly open the LP tank valve until the forklift starts. If it does not start, start over, but do not exceed three tries or you will kill the battery.
